Our Work

Aboriginal Peak Organisations Northern Territory — APO NT

Our Work

Closing the Gap

APO NT partners with the NT Government’s Office of Aboriginal Affairs to jointly chair the partnership working group on Closing the Gap in the NT, and to coordinate and lead the work directed by the Northern Territory Executive Council on Aboriginal Affairs.

Aboriginal Education

APO NT has been funded by NT Government’s Department of Education to establish an Aboriginal Education Peak Body in the NT by the conclusion of 2024. We have established a Steering Group of Aboriginal education experts from around the NT to guide the development of this peak body, and inform the policy platform and approach it will take.

Remote Jobs

APO NT has for many years advocated for a strong remote job policy and has worked with member organisations and Aboriginal partner organisations to develop a refreshed remote jobs platform to inform advocacy efforts in the context of CDP reform.

APO NT partners with the NT Government to jointly coordinate the Tripartite Forum, which oversees the implementation of the Generational Strategy for children and families in the Northern Territory.
